Thee ROMANUS BAND! Truly, we began working with volk in 2017 & in 2018 their EP “Average American Band” went on sell. The 7 inch sold super well and sold out quickly. I first encountered VOLK when they strangely enough opened up for my band Brother O’ Brother at a sparsely attended to say the least show at Spring Water Supper Club on a Wednesday night in Nashville, TN. As it turned out it was their first Nashville show as they had recently moved from Texas while originally forming in Germany as they both were working over seas at the time. That night was electric, but not because of the crowd size. 😊 Romanus Records had been chugging along for a few years and we were off to the races so to speak but I truly saw and heard something different that night. It wasn’t fully formed yet and they were still very ripe into figuring out what truly made them so to speak. But I basically offered them a deal on the spot and said, “hey I really like x,y,& z. I think its unique, you should do more of it, id love to be your friend and help you release something.“ We were off to the races! I helped to find them a studio to get into that wasn’t Nashville expensive for zero reason, we signed a deal on a paper plate at my house, and I tried to give them all the encouragement on upping their looks, sound, and touring I could. I almost sensed that my greater future was with the label and not my band and VOLK felt like the band that was open to taking and using any of my dumb band/label advice. Here is the best part…..THEY WENT SO BEYOND ANY OF MY WEIRD BRAND OF HELP. They truly became masters of their craft, exploring realms of country, punk, and more creating a unique twang of rock assault. They toured like ANIMALS! Playing over 200 shows two years in a row back to back all while holding down jobs, life, and the like. I sold them a tour van that had 65,000 miles on it. Just over 2 years later and it was already pushing nearly 160k miles!?In the way society talks about committing to your dream, being sold out, they were more than sold out. During those 2 years “CASHVILLE” was made and perfected. It was slotted for a Spring release in 2020 ready to announce itself to the world and then the pandemic hit. We agreed to push it back and it was all the better for it. They caught their breath and when they breathed back out Atomic Music Group picked them up as their new booking agency. The world continued to hear the good news of VOLK (said in preacher voice) and CASHVILLE PR continued to grow. Now we are here. VOLK already has mountains of tours locked in for the year including a JULY run with the legendary ELECTRIC SIX. Press has begun rolling in, and this first press is expected to be a quick sellout. I could pontificate about how much I love this band, love these 2 as friends, how they spent the night at my house so much for a period that I thought I needed to build onto my house for them, but I really want you the reader to understand this.  THIS ALBUM IS COW PUNK PERFECTION, and I hope you grasp how AMAZING this bands future is. We have never put so much love into a band at Romanus. But the reality is, their efforts and hunger are 100x what anyone could ever offer. They are singular in their hustle and we hope you are ready to jump on the VOLK hype train with us.
